With an extraordinary history, rich with social, cultural, and educational initiatives, Information City positioned itself at the forefront of most social organizations. The activities lineup begins with the most educational and ongoing initiative ‘Educate a Child, Build a Nation’ which was initiated in 2012 and is still active until today’s date. The initiative focused on improving the educational and cultural level of thousands of students, between 9 and 13 years old, citizens, and expatriates. Those children, exceeding 5000 in number and granted 5000 laptops, were trained at Etisalat Academy in Dubai and many other educational institutions and centers, and each of them was awarded a modern and high-tech laptop.
The goal of 'Educate a Child, Build a Nation' initiative was to improve the level of technical education for children and to form a cornerstone that links education to productivity, as well as increase their awareness of the importance of technical education and opening new horizons for them in a world that is changing every day. This unique initiative has won the praise of senior officials, government entities, and international organizations, and was rich material for the press and the media for so long.
Information City’s achievements continued with the launch of the famous ‘Saada’ initiative which proved to be another social and humanitarian support to the community. The initiative was completed with the hard work of the workforce team backed up by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority and other government entities. ‘Saada’ initiative was implemented in three phases: the first ‘pay a part of school fees’, the second is to provide ‘1000 school bags with a set of stationery supplies and the third is to give ‘1000 brand new laptops.’
The goal of ‘Saada’ initiative, aims to highlight the importance of caring for children of various ages, wherever they are in the Emirates because they are a key focus in the continued progress and development of the country. This is evidenced by paying part of school fees to 250 students from various schools in Dubai and distributing 1000 school bags to students from 5 to 9 years old, who come from various sectors of society and nationalities. Not forgetting to mention the endless initiative 'Educate a Child, Build a Nation' that created awareness for thousands of children. Above all, the well-being of the new generation remains a priority whatsoever, along with the educational and recreational aspects.
Under 'Saada' initiative, the Information City established ‘Protect Yourself ... Protect a Homeland’ concept, which is praised by senior officials and governmental and semi-governmental bodies, and could win the attention of a large number of institutions, charities, and local and international sponsoring companies.
Although 2020 was a difficult and memorable year for the world, for Information City it was a year of donation and a humanitarian challenge in fighting the global Covid-19 pandemic, and on focusing its humanitarian image and vital role in protecting society and maintaining its safety in general. The dedicated team in Information City embodied the greatest meanings of unlimited sacrifice and compassion and worked restlessly and in silence to save the lives of residents and citizens.
During the pandemic year and the following year, the Information City provided more than half a million medical protective masks, 300,000 packages of gloves, and 300,000 packages of sterilizing materials, which were distributed free to the local community.
The year 2023 was another year of 'Saada’s dedication and contribution, as the Information City expands its vision to combine and generalize the culture of excellence and giving through its unique initiative 'Saada…Teach…Protect' in various sectors including security, health, education, and prevention for students in the country. For the educational part, and in cooperation with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), thousands of school bags, laptops, and sets of stationery were distributed to multinational students at schools in the Emirate of Dubai. The safety of students is still a priority for the Government of Dubai as dedicated high-rank officials and personnel from the Dubai Police visit schools to give awareness lectures, and security and guidance presentations to students, which contributes to protecting them from unexpected road accidents. Another safety and security aspect was taken care of by the Directorate General of Dubai Civil Defence which plays a prominent role and outstanding performance role in educating students about important practices and techniques to contain and fight fires in the event of their occurrence and demonstrate the great sacrifices of firemen to save lives. To complete all necessary safety procedures, the Dubai Ambulance shares its vital role in demonstrating presentations for first aid and how to technically and medically deal with serious and light injuries, and the importance of cooperation with medical teams.
To join the world of green energy in line with the vision of the UAE leaders, we contribute to the conversion of a number of schools to clean, green solar energy. Those schools will reduce their annual fees in return as compensation for the solar energy fees that they receive from our initiative.
During the blessed month of Ramadan, the ‘Saada’ initiative embodies the highest social and human values to the community. Food baskets, supplementary needs, and Eid garments were given to the people in need. This human and personal initiative won the praise and support of senior state officials.
Since its inception in 2005, Information City has devoted its activities and tasks to offering basic initiatives and assistance to promote the individual, family, and society in general. Information City shall continue its journey to implement more social, awareness, educational, and health projects.
